Kate Lawler couldn’t hold back the tears after she was told her fiancé could be banned from the hospital when she gives birth to their first child.
Kate, who is expecting a little girl with partner Martin in early 2021, has been warned she is likely to have to go it alone amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Big Brother 2002 winner broke down as she told fans about her fears after hearing the news.
Kate says she is scared of giving birth and that dad-to-be Martin being there was the only thing keeping her calm.
But the DJ and TV presenter found out that he is highly likely to not be allowed anywhere near her on the day their baby arrives.
“I think I should invest in some waterproof mascara,” the teary star said on Instagram.
‘I’ve been crying, that’s why I look like death.
“So I’ve just got off the phone with my obstetrician, we were talking about the birth and my abdominal birth has been booked in.
“Six weeks from today I’m going to have it.
“But because of Covid cases on the rise there’s a chance that Boj (Martin) might not be able to come to hospital with me and I might have to go it alone.”
The 40-year-old announced her pregnancy in September, confirming they would be welcoming a little girl into the world in 2021.
But worried Kate explain that she has a huge fear of childbirth – and that the knowledge Martin would be there by her side was getting her through.
The experience is now “terrifying” she said and outlined why she is having difficulty processing it all.
She continued: “My heart goes out to any woman who’s had to give birth without their partner there.
“As someone who has a huge fear of childbirth, the idea of giving birth to my baby alone without the person I love there holding my hand is just terrifying.
“It’s just not for me, it’s not what I want. So of course I’m upset, but there’s nothing we can do.”
