Amanda Holden has confirmed that Simon Cowell will be making a triumphant return to ITV’s Britain Got Talent after recovering from his broken back.
The 49-year-old television star, who has been a judge on Britain’s Got Talent since 2007, told the Loose Women panel that Simon is recovering well and will definitely be coming back to the show next year.
Calling into the ITV show, Amanda looked glamorous as she gave the Loose Women panelists an update about Simon.
Although Simon will not be appearing on this year’s Christmas special, Amanda said that the former X Factor judge will be back for the new season that stars filming in January.
When asked about Simon’s return she said: “He is, Mr Cowell is coming back.
“I spoke to him on the phone a few weeks ago and he feels on top of the world and apparently he looks fantastic as well.
Amanda also added: “So he’ll be back for the new season which we’re filming in January. I can’t wait for it.
Although Simon is not appearing in this year’s Christmas special, Amanda did admit that she thought he was making an appearance at one point.
“There was a moment in the Christmas show to do with magic and I thought, ‘this is it it’s going to be him’, but it wasn’t, they missed a trick,” she said.
The exciting news comes months after Simon dramatically broke his back in a horror electric bike accident.
The dad of one has been keeping a low profile and recovering at his Malibu home after he fell off the electric bike while giving it a test run at his home.
The music mogul was thrown from the bike and broke three vertebrae before being quickly rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery on his injury.
Simon had a rod inserted into his back and as a result of the accident was unable to return to the UK and appear in the Britain’s Got Talent finals.
This year, Simon was replaced by Diversity star Ashley Banjo, who instantly became a popular addition to the judging panel alongside Amanda, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
