A funny thing happened after Daris Rucker split from his wife of 20 years… he found love with a comedian.
According to Page Six, the Hootie & the Blowfish frontman has been quietly dating comedian Kate Quigley.
Darius, 54, announced on July 11 that he and Beth, his wife of two decades, had “consciously uncoupled.” It’s not known when he and Kate, 38, began dating, but she began writing messages about country music in early August.
“Country music is starting to grow on me,” she tweeted on Aug. 2. Darius has since appeared on her Instagram several times. On Sept. 25, she posted a photo of her sitting on the country singer’s lap.
“Can’t tell ya how much I love these two” she said of the image with Darius and fellow comedian Bronston Jones.
Continuing to drop relationship clues, Kate and Darius attended Dave Chappelle’s birthday party over the summer.
In addition, she’s referenced her “boyfriend” on multiple occasions.
“My boyfriend is a dolphins fan. Now I get why he likes me so much. He has a thing for lost causes,” she tweeted on Sept. 28. Daris has been a longtime Dolphins fan, even singing “I’m such a baby ’cause the Dolphins make me cry” in the hit single “Only Wanna Be With You.”
