Priyanka Chopra faced no action after she was seen attending a hair salon in Notting Hill, London, this week.

MailOnline reports that the actor and her mother – who were seen leaving the Josh Wood Colour salon on Wednesday evening (6 January) – faced no action after Chopra’s representative said the appointment to have her hair coloured was for a film role.

A spokesperson for the 38-year-old told The Independent: “Following government guidance, Priyanka’s hair was coloured for the purpose of the film she is currently shooting in London.

“The salon was opened privately for the production and everyone involved had been tested and followed both the DCMS working guidelines and the film production regulations.”

They continued: “Film and TV production is permitted to continue in the UK, and locations can continue to accommodate shoots and recces that are carried out in-line with government guidelines. The exemption paperwork legally permitting her to be there was provided to the police, and they left satisfied.”

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were alerted at around 17:40hrs on Wednesday, 6 January to reports of a Covid breach taking place within a hairdresser’s on Lansdowne Mews, Notting Hill.

“Officers attended and the owner of the salon was given a verbal reminder of the important need to comply with all regulations regarding Covid-19 and signposted to sources of advice. No fixed penalty notices were issued.”

Chopra and her husband, boyband star Nick Jonas, are currently living in London while she films her new movie, Text for You, in which Jonas has a cameo.

The film, an English remake of the German movie SMS Fur Dich (itself based on the novel of the same name by Sofie Cramer). follows a woman grieving the loss her fiancé, when she decides to begin sending romantic messages to his old phone number.

She then forms an attachment to the man who was assigned the number, and who is also struggling with heartbreak.

The cast also includes Outlander star Sam Heughan, Celine Dion, Russell Tovey and Omid Djalili.

Celebrities have been under scrutiny during the pandemic over their behaviour under lockdown rules.

In November last year, Rita Ora was condemned after it emerged that she threw a birthday party at a London restaurant, also in Notting Hill, when she was supposed to be quarantining after returning from a private concert in Egypt.

The current rules in England state that personal care facilities including hair, beauty, tanning and nail salons, as well as tattoo parlours, spas and massage parlours must all close during the Tier 5 lockdown.
