Saudi border guards in Al-Daer, Jazan, have arrested eight Yemeni nationals for violating security law after they attempted to smuggle 160 kg of qat. Preliminary legal procedures have been completed and the seized consignment handed over to the competent authority.
The General Directorate of Narcotics Control has also arrested a citizen in Al-Qassim Province for trafficking amphetamine. Legal procedures have been initiated against a man who has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
Saudi security officials have urged anyone with information regarding suspected drug smuggling or trafficking to call 911 in the Eastern Province, Makkah, and Riyadh, or 999 in other regions. The directorate can be contacted by phone on 995 or via email.
