MWL launches program to combat blindness in Pakistan

The Muslim World League launched the first phase of a program to combat blindness in Pakistan in the presence of Minister of Health of the Punjab Provincial Government Dr. Jamal Nasir and several ambassadors and officials.

MWL Regional Director in Pakistan Saad bin Masoud Al-Harthy said that the project reflects the MWL’s interpretation of humanitarian duty as outlined in Islam and will serve those most in need in the country.

Al-Harthy explained that the first phase of the program will see 2,000 cataract removal surgeries performed, along with lens implantation, under the supervision of specialized medical staff.

He added that this program is part of numerous projects implemented by the MWL in Pakistan annually.
