American reports revealed that an executive of the “Tesla” company for electric cars, and who is close to billionaire, Elon Musk, is subject to an internal investigation into a deal to buy glass considered “suspicious.”
Omid Afshar, who is in charge of overseeing operations at the Tesla plant in Texas, is scheduled to go on vacation before he is dismissed from work, according to the American “Bloomberg” agency.
The report added that Afshar had applied for a “special” type of glass that is not easy to obtain amid global supply chain restrictions, and told employees it was for a “secret project”.
And Bloomberg continued in its report that Tesla’s financial department reported the “suspicious” glass purchase deal earlier this year, which sparked an internal investigation led by the acting chief of legal affairs at Tesla, David Searle.
While investigators are still not sure whether the “suspicious” glass was intended for the personal use of the billionaire CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, Bloomberg reports that some of the employees involved in the accident have already been fired.
Omid Afshar is considered a confidant of Elon Musk, within the company, “Tesla”, as he wrote through his account on the American recruitment platform “LinkedIn” that he has worked in the “Tesla CEO’s Office” since 2017.
News of the possible dismissal of Omid Afshar follows the departure of Andrei Karpathi, president of Tesla’s artificial intelligence company.
