Twitter is laying off dozens of its employees

The American company, “Twitter”, has laid off dozens of its employees, amid increasing uncertainty about the acquisition of the famous tweeting platform by billionaire, Elon Musk.
The company dispensed with the services of 30% of its recruitment team, which includes recruits and others tasked with recruiting new employees, according to the American newspaper, “The Wall Street Journal”.
Twitter said in statements to the American newspaper that it had given up “less than 100 people”, and that only the talent acquisition (recruitment) team had been affected.
It is noteworthy that “Twitter” announced earlier that it was temporarily freezing its employment, as part of a broader attempt to reduce its costs, while it is trying to finish the acquisition by Elon Musk for $44 billion.
Musk has put the purchase on hold, and has threatened to walk out of the agreement unless his concerns about the massive number of fake accounts the Twitter platform contain are allayed.
Twitter is not the only technology company that has recently backed away from hiring new employees or laying off old employees. Meta (formerly Facebook) recently announced that it will slow its hiring process because it faces “dangerous and difficult times ahead.”
