A video clip posted on “YouTube” showed a group of camels, whose number was reported to be 15, who died after drinking oil materials that leaked from the ground in an oil site south of Marsa Matrouh, Egypt.

The scenes showed a number of camels dead bodies near a blot of dark colored oil. It seems that she quenched her thirst with these toxic substances, thinking that it was water.

Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper reported that a resident of Marsa Matrouh found “dead camels around an oil slick on a road south of Marsa Matrouh, which is a road for an oil company in the Western Desert, so he photographed them and posted photos and videos on Facebook.”

The people of Marsa Matrouh were quoted as confirming that this incident is not “the first and it is almost repeated every year. The people demanded that the petroleum company responsible for the death of these camels be held accountable, which is a great wealth for the camel breeder, and it could be all his wealth in life.”

In this context, Major General Khaled Shuaib, Governor of Matrouh, ordered “the formation of a committee immediately to access the site of the camel’s death and the oil spot around it, and a report from specialists on the causes of death, analysis of samples from the bodies of the dead camels, and submitting an immediate report to him to hold accountable those responsible for the death of those camels. “.
