The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf, condemned in the strongest terms the allowing extremists and a member of the Israeli Knesset to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Al-Hajraf said that the storming of the mosque by extremists under the protection of the Israeli authorities is a flagrant violation of the rules of international law and the Geneva Conventions in this regard.

The Secretary-General stressed the need for Israel to respect the historical and legal status quo in occupied Jerusalem and its sanctities and to stop all illegal measures, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to preserve the safety of Al-Aqsa and worshipers, and the need for Israel to abide by its obligations as a force and an occupying force in accordance with international humanitarian law.
