Karen Gillan and stand-up comedian Nick Kocher got married

Karen Gillan has reportedly wed stand-up comedian Nick Kocher in a lavish Scottish ceremony – and her American beau even decked out in a kilt.

The Guardians Of The Galaxy star, 34, and her husband, 36, are said to have tied the knot at Castle Toward in Dunoon, Argyll, and made their vows in front of loved ones.

Karen, who is known for her role as Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, jetted to her homeland for her nuptials.

According to reports, he arrived at the venue via a speedboat, while his bride chartered a yacht, The Spirit of Fortitude, to transport family and friends to the afternoon ceremony.

A source told The Sun that ‘nobody knew’ that it was going on, with security guards blocking access to the nineteenth-century country house.

They added: ‘They must have spent a fortune. The castle and the private ship were spectacular.

‘Nick looked so handsome in his kilt. It was the perfect place for a celebrity wedding.’

The newlywed told The Sun himself: ‘It’s fantastic – I’m looking forward to it It’s great to be here.’

Guests in attendance included Karen’s former boss from her Doctor Who days, Steven Moffat, and Saturday Night Live comic Beck Bennett, whose wife Jessy Hodge gave a reading.

An additional source told The Mirror : ‘We had seen the yacht moored up, but it was only when someone said Julia Roberts had been seen having breakfast in the Rock Cafe and Robert Downey Jr had been seen going into a shop that we realised there was a celebrity wedding happening.’

The exact date of their wedding is not clear.

The couple are believed to have first started dating two years ago after meeting in the States, with them also understood to be living in Los Angeles.
