Born prematurely.. British baby miracle comes home

59

The British miracle baby came home after being born 17 weeks premature, weighing 737 grams and spending five months in the hospital.

And baby Alsie, who was born on June 17, 2021, spent 10 weeks on life support after being born in the 23rd week, and she weighed no more than 737.1 grams at Royal Oldham Hospital in Greater Manchester on June 17 last year.

When she was born, her little hand was as long as her father’s fingernail, and Katie Hampson, a full-time mother of two in Rochdale, said: “When I gave birth to her I sat on the bed and looked at her closely, her body was the size of my husband Rob’s hand, and that picture of her hand in her father’s hand doesn’t even appear How small she was. She was very small, but quite well-developed with her tiny eyelashes and fingernails and toenails.”

Katie and her husband Rob Hampson’s life was turbulent after eight weeks of pregnancy, when doctors diagnosed her severe bleeding as a subplacental hematoma. To make matters worse, Katie was exposed to placental abruption.

After a normal delivery, Katie said the delivery wasn’t as it should have been: “It wasn’t like a newborn, some people didn’t even congratulate me.”

But the little girl came home on October 30, 2021, has gained weight, is currently 6 kilograms, and is preparing to celebrate her first birthday next month.
