US President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, announced Friday their combined combined net income in 2021 along with the amount of taxes they paid.
“The President and First Lady jointly filed an income tax return (for 2021) and reported federal adjusted gross income of $61,702,” the White House said in a news release Friday.
“They paid $150,439 in federal income tax, and the effective 2021 federal income tax rate is 24.6%,” the statement added. In 2021, Biden spent $17,394 in charitable contributions, including making $5,000 to the Beau Biden Foundation, the statement said.

US Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Douglas Imhoff, reported a combined combined income of $1,655,563, paid $523,371 in federal income tax, and contributed $22,100 to charitable causes in 2021.
US presidents under Richard Nixon, the country’s 37th president, have begun to release their tax returns, but the only exceptions have been Donald Trump and Gerald Ford.
