Ukrainian nationalists attack facilities providing energy to the “Chernobyl” plant

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Ukrainian nationalists had committed a very serious provocation by bombing the facilities that provide energy to the “Chernobyl” nuclear power plant.

“I note with great regret that the Ukrainian nationalists made a new provocation, which is fraught with great danger, attacking the substation and power lines, which feed the Chernobyl nuclear power plant,” Russian Deputy Defense Minister Nikolai Pankov said at a press briefing. “Russian specialists took immediate measures to transform to standby power sources for diesel generators.
“Currently, the Ukrainian side refrains from organizing any repair and restoration work… This once again confirms the absolutely provocative nature of the actions of the nationalists,” Pankov added.

Since February 24, the Russian army has been carrying out a special military operation to protect the Donbass region, southeast of Ukraine.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia does not plan to occupy Ukrainian lands, stressing that Russia’s goal is to protect people who, for 8 years, have been subjected to persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime.
