The Kremlin announced today, Sunday, that Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan the Russian military operation in Ukraine and the possibility of resolving the conflict.
The Kremlin published on its website the details of the phone conversation, in which Putin said that Moscow is ready for dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities and other countries to resolve the conflict.
Putin explained to Erdogan the details of the Russian military operation to protect Donbass, indicating the possibility of stopping it on the condition that Kyiv stops fighting and agrees to Moscow’s demands.
Erdogan also gave a critical assessment of the rabid racist Western campaign against Russian culture.
For his part, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for an immediate cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine and to allow space for diplomatic solutions in order to sign a peace agreement between the two sides.

The Turkish presidency stated, in a statement, that “Erdogan and Putin discussed, during a phone call, the Russian military operation in Ukraine and relations between the two countries,” adding that “During his call, Erdogan stressed the importance of taking immediate steps towards achieving a ceasefire, opening humanitarian corridors and signing a peace agreement.”
Erdogan stressed, “Turkey’s readiness to contribute to a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian crisis,” stressing that “the ceasefire will provide an opportunity to search for political solutions to the Ukrainian crisis.”
Erdogan noted that he would “continue efforts to conduct comprehensive negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and reach results.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the goal of the special military operation in Ukraine is to protect people who have been subjected to persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime, eight years ago.
The operation aims to prevent the militarization of Ukraine and the Nazi tendencies in it, and to bring to justice all those responsible for the bloody crimes against civilians in Donbass.
