A British nurse accused of killing 8 babies in a neonatal unit has appeared in court at a pre-trial hearing.
Nurse Lucy Lytby, 32, of Hereford, has denied killing 5 boys and 3 girls at The Countess of Chester Hospital between June 2015 and June 2016. She also denied trying to kill another 5 boys and 5 girls.
Lucy Lytby appeared on video at Chester Crown Court from a room at HMP Bronzefield in Ashford.
The hearing dealt with pre-trial arrangements at Manchester Crown Court, which is set to begin on 4 October and will last 6 months.
Two more pre-trial hearings are scheduled, in April and June or July. Lytby was returned to the detention center until the next hearing.
