Sex and The City’s star defends Sarah Jessica Parker over ‘sad feud’ with Kim Cattrall

Mr Big star Chris Noth, 67, has made remarks on the rumoured feud between Sex and the City co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall. The reboot of the show is premiering on HBO Max on December 9, with Kim not reprising her role as Samantha Jones in the long awaited reboot.

Chris will be returning to the series as Mr.Big, and has revealed his view on Kim’s exit.

Speaking to The Guardian, he said: “I have to tell you, I have absolutely no idea what her thinking is or her emotions.

“I do know that I’m very close with SJ and [Cattrall’s] descriptions of her don’t even come close.

“I liked her, I thought she was marvellous in the show and some people move on for their own reasons.”

He continued: “I don’t know what hers were. I just wish that whole thing had never happened because it was sad and uncomfortable.

“I just don’t like to see anyone talking down about SJ because she’s a target and people can be nasty. I feel very protective of her and I was not happy about that.”

The rumoured feud between the stars became public news, when Kim’s brother died and Sarah sent well wishes.

Kim’s younger brother Chris died in February 2018 and she posted a remembrance post for him on February 4 that same year.

“(If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend.

“So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”

In an interview with Piers Morgan in 2017, Kim also made her dislike for Sarah very clear.

She said: “The common ground that we had was the series and the series is over. … Sarah Jessica, she could have been nicer … I don’t know what her issue is. I never have.”

Speaking at the time about Kim’s assertion to Piers, Sarah said: “I found it very upsetting because that’s not the way I recall our experience.

“I always think what ties us together is this experience – it was a professional experience but it became personal because it was years and years of our lives.”

HBO Max’s chief content officer, Casey Bloys, said the new series will focus on the three remaining friends and that it would show the realities of being 50, and having people in your life come and go.
