The American star, Angelina Jolie, revealed how her struggle with her psychological disorder contributed to perfecting her character in her latest movie, “Eternals”, which recently began showing in cinemas.

Jolie, 46, confirmed in statements to “CNA” that her personal struggle with “post-traumatic stress disorder” made her master the role of a warrior “Thena” in the movie inspired by the “Marvel” comics.
The warrior “Thena”, played by Julie in the events of the film, is a strong character from a physical point of view, but emotionally weak, and constantly struggles with her mental health.

Angelina Jolie pointed out that it is interesting that the director of “Eternals”, Chloe Chow, chooses actors who are somewhat similar to the dramatic characters and then develops the character with each actor.

And she continued:

“Honestly I spoke with Chloe about my PTSD a few years ago, and my own fears of not being strong enough to protect the ones I love, and we’d have these conversations, and then sometimes we would edit the dialogue and some of the movie scenes.”

“Actually most people go through something, whether it’s trauma or if they don’t believe in themselves. So yeah, that’s what makes you strong, it’s something you fight through,” Angelina Jolie explained.

And she continued, “Sometimes people who look broken are actually just very emotional people with deep feelings and very smart and absorb a lot of emotions, and they don’t know how to process it because they can’t stop it, however, if they can absorb it that’s what makes them strong, Passion is what makes a woman so strong.”

Angelina Jolie expressed her hope that people around the world will understand through the movie “Eternals” and her character in its events, that “it’s okay not to be well.”

She stressed that the normalization and support of mental health through the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” is critical because of its wide popularity around the world.

It is noteworthy that the movie “Eternals” was banned from showing in cinemas in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait, because it contained scenes between gay characters, and after the “Marvel” company refused to implement the countries’ request to delete those scenes from its events.

Angelina Jolie supported Marvel’s decision not to delete scenes from the movie, “I am proud of Marvel for refusing to cut those scenes, and I considered those who did not agree to this to be ignorant.

And co-starring in the movie “Eternals,” the Mexican actress of Lebanese descent, Salma Hayek.
