Habits of men and women cause a dangerous increase in health

42

Many of our daily habits unknowingly contribute to raising our cholesterol levels, which is a very dangerous thing for our lives.

To clarify this, cholesterol is a type of fat that is present in the blood within certain limits, but if its levels are high, it begins to deposit in the walls of the arteries. Its accumulation and deposition in the arteries leads to a serious problem of poor blood flow through them, which in turn may lead to heart attacks, strokes and other fatal cases, according to the “MedicForum” website.
Many people are unaware that their daily eating habits increase the level of cholesterol in the blood without knowing it. This was explained by British physician Deborah Lee, showing the type and nature of harmful habits in our routine lives:

Many people eat too much fat (or so-called gluttony). Here, the doctor states that a diet rich in saturated fats and trans fats is closely linked to high cholesterol levels. Follow-up notes that men should eat no more than 30 grams of saturated fat per day, and women should eat no more than 20 grams. As for the sources of saturated fats, she mentioned that they are found in processed foods and fatty meats, and as for the sources of trans fats, they are found in margarine, biscuits, cakes, and baked goods.

Many also like to eat sweets. Which would promote high cholesterol levels, so the doctor advises adults not to eat more than 30 grams of sugar per day, in addition to paying attention to the sugar content of foods, especially processed foods, sauces and soft drinks, and advises to reduce them.

Cigarette smoking appears to be closely related to high cholesterol. Regarding the mechanism of damage caused by cigarettes, Dr. (Lee) explained that burning tobacco produces acrolein, which is one of the toxins found in cigarette smoke. Once in the bloodstream, acrolein can disrupt cholesterol metabolism by inhibiting the enzyme responsible for maintaining LDL cholesterol. As a result, this type of cholesterol, also known as bad cholesterol, builds up. Where figures and studies have shown that smokers are two to four times more likely to have a heart attack, with high cholesterol, compared to non-smokers.

Cholesterol levels are linked to stress, which many people experience. These stresses, when they become chronic, unnecessarily stimulate sympathetic nervous system responses, which are usually activated in times of danger. And when the system is activated, the level of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol increases, but in conditions of constant stress it leads to destructive inflammation of the vessels.

Dr. Lee warns of another important issue: lack of movement. It is essential that one spend at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity physical activity. In the event of a lack of physical activity than that, this is what exacerbates the problem of high cholesterol.

Get enough sleep, because according to medical research, people who sleep less than seven hours a night have higher levels of cholesterol and higher concentrations of triglycerides. This usually leads to a lifestyle associated with lack of sleep reduces the production of the hunger hormones leptin and ghrelin, which in turn affect cholesterol metabolism, resulting in higher levels in the blood.
