Wreckage of Hitler’s secret weapon found in Britain

British archaeologists discovered during excavations in the Kent region the remains of the German “FAW-2” ballistic missile.

Scientists studied a hole 5 meters deep and 13 meters wide, where they found, under a layer of soil, parts of the rocket engine operating with a mixture of liquid oxygen and alcohol.

A team of archaeologists led by two brothers, Colin and Sean Walch, had previously studied where four other rockets landed. However, this discovery became unique, as all parts of the rocket engine were in good condition.
The British newspaper, “Express”, said that German missiles usually plunged into the ground at an angle of 70 degrees, which made their fragments fly to a great distance. But the rocket discovered by scientists did not break into pieces. This may be due to the layer of sand that prevents debris from flying off. Scientists said that the process of cleaning and restoring the missile will take one year.

Scientists believe that the missile was launched in February 1944 from the Netherlands. They hope to discover codes that will allow them to determine where it was produced.

It is noteworthy that “FAO-2” is the world’s first long-range ballistic missile. In 1944 the rocket for the first time reached the limits of space at an altitude of 188 km. The missile was equipped with a liquid-fueled engine and a continuity command system. The weight of the missile at takeoff was 12.5 tons, its flight range was 320 km, and its speed was 5,940 km / h.

Hitler used his secret weapon to bomb Britain, where 3,225 missiles were fired at civilian targets, killing 2,700 people. The process of refueling the missile required processing 30 tons of potatoes needed to produce alcohol.
