Today, Wednesday, Hebrew media claimed that the well-known American actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, is investing in an Israeli meat company.

The Hebrew newspaper “Israel Hayom” claimed, this evening, Wednesday, that the American Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio, is investing his money in the Israeli meat company known as “Alf Farms”, a company that develops steaks from animal cells in the laboratory.
The Hebrew newspaper confirmed that DiCaprio, the Oscar-winning actor, not only invested in the Israeli startup, but would become an advisor and a member of the board of directors of the company’s advisory committee, as well.

The newspaper reported on its website that the amount invested by the famous Hollywood actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, was not disclosed or announced, but after announcing his joining the company as an investor and a member of the board of directors, the company raised $ 105 million in funding last July.

The newspaper pointed out that DiCaprio pays attention to global issues, on top of which is global warming, for example.

The newspaper pointed out that global consumption of meat will increase by 40-70% by 2050, and that lab-grown meat could become a solution to the problem of global hunger.
