Schitt’s Creek star Sarah Levy and Parks & Recreation’s Jim O’Heir have a new movie coming out this autumn, titled Distancing Socially.

Its debut trailer mirrors much of our real lives during the COVID-19 pandemic, with online conference platform Zoom providing the only means of communication with our nearest and dearest.

“My DP (director of photography) and I made this film from our bedrooms at the height of the pandemic. Shot remotely on the iPhone 11,” explained director Chris Blake in the YouTube video’s description.

“I guess you could call it a quarantine comedy.”

His synopsis also teased: “Composed of a series of short vignettes that share a telecommunications application as a common thread, Distancing Socially focuses on loosely connected human interactions taking place virtually across a world in lockdown.”

Comedian Rory Scovel, Rush Hour TV actress Jessika Van, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’s Alan Tudyk, Code Black’s Melanie Chandra, Gossip Girl’s Connor Paolo and The Office US star Andy Buckley appear in supporting roles.

In other Schitt’s Creek news, Stevie’s Emily Hampshire recently declared that the cast “are going to work together again”.

She went on to explain: “There’s definitely never gonna be another show, we’re never gonna do this show again, but I’m sure, and I’m not saying, ‘For sure this is happening,’ I’m sure because I know and love these people that we’re gonna do something like that, get together and do some movie or something.”
