Actor Hugh Jackman calls himself the Son of Water, but he’s never spent more time in it than he did while filming his new movie, Reminiscence.

“I’m Australian born and raised so I love water,” Jackman said. “I go to the ocean almost daily, if I can.”

“But I definitely didn’t take a shower during this movie. By the end of the day I was really satisfied… I was in the water all day. I had never done a time-lapse in water before.”

In the science-fiction movie “Reminiscence”, which opens in cinemas on Friday, Jackman plays a former soldier who runs a business for those who want to float in water tanks that keep them from receiving any information or signals from their senses. Co-starring Rebecca Ferguson and Thandie Newton. It is set in the future in war-torn and flooded Miami.

The film was written and directed by Lisa Joy who is convinced that Jackman is the right man for the lead, and says his involvement was essential to making the film.

“I just knew that besides his amazing movement skills and charisma… he’s also a great embodiment of characters,” she said.

“I didn’t have any funding, I didn’t have a studio. I was a first-time director with a script and a dream. I don’t know why Hugh Jackman decided to support me but he did… It couldn’t have happened without his support.”
