Russian opera singer honored with Italian award

Russian artist and opera singer at the Mariinsky Theater in Petersburg, Eldar Abdrazakov, received the prize of the Italian Villa Bertelli Foundation for “excellent performance and true Italian tradition”.
This was reported on July 26, a spokesperson for the singer. And the spokesman quoted Abdrazakzev as saying: “It is a great honor for me to receive this award on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of my first performance at the Italian La Scala theater.”

It is noteworthy that Abdrazakov’s international creative career began in Italy, where he won the “Maria Callas” television competition, and then began to sing in 2001 at the La Scala opera theater in Milan.

The spokesman recalled that the Russian singer has since been performing 3 concerts on the stage of the “La Scala” theater. As for his fourth musical evening, he plans to hold it there in the 2021-2022 season.”

The artist, Eldar Abdrazakov, is the winner of the Grammy and Oscar della Lirica prizes for opera and the Golden Mask award for the Russian play. He was also honored with the title of People’s Artist of the Russian Republics of Tatarstan and Bashkiria.
