Eriksen must remove his pacemaker to get him back on the field

The Italian Technical Scientific Committee of the Italian Football Association confirmed that the Danish footballer, Christian Eriksen, must remove the pacemaker in order to return to his club, Inter Milan.

Eriksen, 29, suffered a heart attack while participating in the European Championship “Euro 2020” on June 12, and since then, he has been equipped with the International Classification of Diseases to regulate more heart rhythm disturbances, according to the website “Gol”.
But Serie A officials say Eriksen will need to prove he is completely free of any health concerns, in order to resume his career at the San Siro.

Eriksen spent six days in the hospital, during which time he was fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, a device connected to the heart by wires that send an electrical pulse to correct any irregular rhythms.

For his part, the Danish team doctor, Morten Possen, stressed after Eriksen’s discharge from hospital on June 18: “This device is necessary after a heart attack due to heart rhythm disturbances.”

Christian Eriksen suffered a heart attack, and fell to the ground during Denmark’s first match in the continental finals against Finland in Copenhagen, and needed resuscitation on the field, before completing his recovery in hospital, where a pacemaker was installed inside his body.
