The James Bond heroine may miss the Cannes Film Festival after contracting the Corona virus

The French actress, Léa Seydoux, was infected with the new “Corona” virus, which may indicate her absence from the 74th Cannes International Film Festival.

A spokeswoman for one of Léa Seydoux’s films told AFP that she might not attend the festival because of her illness.
The possibility of Lea Seydoux’s absence, 35, from the Cannes Film Festival, comes at a time when she is participating in four films in its 74th edition, including “The French Dispatch”.

Three of the four films are competing for the Palme d’Or, the first prize at Cannes.

But the spokeswoman confirmed that Lea Sayed has been fully vaccinated against the virus, and she is not showing symptoms, and is waiting for her doctor’s instructions to see if she can travel to attend the festival, which will conclude its activities next Saturday, corresponding to July 17.

The spokeswoman also suggested that Leah had contracted the virus while working on her last movie.

Under normal circumstances, Lya Seydoux will need to take two negative tests before she can attend the festival.

It is noteworthy that Lea Seydoux is the latest heroine of the British secret agent James Bond films, co-starring Daniel Craig in the 2015 movie “Spectre” and “No Time to Die”, which is expected to be shown this year.

And rumors spread in the French city of Cannes, a few days ago, that a big star was infected with the new “Corona” virus, but the festival director, Thierry Frémaux, confirmed on Saturday that “there was no gathering at the festival.”

He stated after showing one of the films: “Yesterday we did more than 3,000 tests (on festival-goers) and we don’t have any positive cases. We have to say this to show that the rumors about the Cannes gathering are unfounded.”

The Cannes International Film Festival was canceled last year due to the epidemic, and was postponed from its usual date last May, to take place from 6 to 17 July.
