Piers Morgan seen back on Good Morning Britain as he begs fans to vote for him at NTAs

Piers Morgan has been seen back on Good Morning Britain after pleading with viewers to vote for him at the National Television Awards this year.

The former host, who explosively quit the show in March following controversial comments about Meghan Markle, was seen in an array of clips alongside his former co-host Susanna Reid ahead of the long-awaited awards ceremony.

The 56-year-old TV star was edited into a ‘best bits’ video which saw controversial Piers in some of his most memorable moments from his time on the show over the past twelve months.

Viewers relived some of his most explosive moments from his bombshell argument with Matt Hancock to his hysterical interview with Britain’s oldest identical twins who claimed that sex was the reason behind their old age.

Good Morning Britain viewers were left rather surprised when they saw Piers’ presence on the show again following his unexpected exit earlier this year.

Piers also took to Twitter to urge his fans to vote for him at the NTAs – even though he can’t win.

He wrote: “Delighted to have been long-listed in three categories at the National TV Awards (even if I’ve been deleted from the last one. I’ve got no chance of winning, obviously, but voting for me would really irritate the usual winners: So feel free..”

Piers famously fumed off the Good Morning Britain set after a heated debate with co-star Alex Beresford who challenged the TV star on his controversial opinions about Meghan Markle.

Following Prince Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey about the Royal family, Piers slammed the Duchess of Sussex, and claimed she fabricated the truth in the eye-opening chat.

The same week as the couple’s Oprah interview aired on British TV, Piers threw in the towel on Good Morning Britain after fans demanded he apologised for his ‘cruel’ comments about pregnant Meghan.

Naturally, seeing the presenter on-screen again brought back some fond memories among loyal GMB viewers who flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts.

“Piers Morgan back on Good Morning Britain! I don’t know why, but I got a bit emotional seeing that. It’s not the same without him,” gushed one fan.

“GMB showing clips of Piers had me almost crying, to be honest. I think I need some more coffee,” another echoed.

“Unpopular opinion but Piers Morgan made GMB. It’s pretty bleak without him,” a third tweeted.

Meanwhile, someone else disagreed: “Ugh, I thought we’d seen the last of that man. Won’t be voting for him.”

Good Morning Britain is up against some of TV’s most popular shows, including This Morning, Loose Women, and The Chase.

The awards ceremony – hosted by Joel Dommett – will be broadcast live from The O2 in London on September 9.
