Dwayne Johnson has given the smallest ever teaser of his costume in the upcoming DCEU movie Black Adam.
In pictures which he shared to his Instagram followers on Thursday (May 20), the actor revealed just a few centimetres of his outfit’s collar.
While the post was promoting the star’s energy drink brand ZOA and talking about financial forecasts, global supply and gross margins, these two photos saw him attending a board meeting remotely while on set for the film and covering his costume with a black smock.
But the cloak slipped a bit in the second shot and a little peek at his costume was revealed.
“If you swipe left and ZOOM IN, you’ll see a small piece of my GOLD BLACK ADAM ⚡️ peeking out from under my black cloak of secrecy 💀😊” wrote the actor at the end of the post.
The only thing visible is a small piece of black and gold fabric at the centre of his chest, which isn’t much since those are the character’s traditional colours.
Black Adam is usually seen in his classic all-black suit, with a large golden lightning bolt down his chest as well as gold gloves and a thick waistband of the same colour.
Warner Bros previously released a concept art trailer which also saw a rendition of the costume, which matched what Johnson seemed to be wearing.
While Black Adam has historically been known as a Shazam villain, he is flying solo this time around and will square off with none other than Hawkman and the Justice Society.
Young Rock star Uli Latukefu was previously announced as part of the cast and he is expected to be playing a younger version of Johnson’s character.
What we do know is that Aldis Hodge will play Hawkman, Pierce Brosnan has joined as Dr Fate, Quintessa Swindell stars as Cyclone, Noah Centineo is Atom Smasher, and Sarah Shahi is portraying Adrianna Tomaz in the cast.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, the film is currently filming in Atlanta and is set to release on July 29, 2022.
