The Belarusian Ministry of Defense confirmed the death of two pilots as a result of the crash of a military training plane on the outskirts of the city of Baranavichi, northwest of the capital, Minsk.

The ministry stated that the crew of the “Yak-130” plane detected a technical malfunction during its training flight, adding that the pilots tried to remove the plane from the city.

The ministry added that the pilots, after making sure that the plane’s crash course did not include residential homes, left, but both of them died as a result of the accident, without any casualties or other material damage.

Despite this statement, the official Belarusian “Belta” agency reported that the plane had crashed in front of a residential house, which resulted in the outbreak of a fire, while media circulated footage from the scene of the accident.
