A recent British study found that eating a lot of chocolate and sugary drinks increases the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

According to the “Study Finds” scientific website, researchers from the University of Oxford in Britain discovered, after long research, that white bread, butter, jam, fruit juice and chocolate cause premature death.

The researchers emphasized that these foods are full of calories, fat and sugar and low in fiber, and may lead to heart disease.

Dietitian Dr. Carmen Bernas said: “Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death and disability in the UK, and a poor diet is a major contributor.”

She added: “The most common nutritional guidelines are based on the nutrients found in foods rather than the foods themselves, and this may be a puzzle for the public. Our findings help to identify specific foods and drinks commonly consumed in Britain, which may increase the risk of disease.” Cardiovascular mortality. ”

During the study, the researchers analyzed data from about 117,000 adults in England, Scotland and Wales between the ages of 37 and 73 during the study, and the team tracked each patient for up to 15 years.
The analysis found two specific diets were linked to premature death in middle-aged adults.

The first includes large quantities of chocolate, sweets, butter, and white bread, with little to no fresh fruit and vegetables and the second high in sugary drinks, fruit juice, chocolate, sweets, table sugar and preserves.

Researchers have found that those who eat a lot of chocolate, sweets, butter, and white bread tend to be male, younger, and from poor backgrounds. They are also more likely to be smokers, less active, obese, or have high blood pressure.

Participants who consumed a lot of sugary drinks and canned foods were more likely to have cardiovascular disease and death, despite their physical activity.

During this period, about 4,245 developed cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes.

The researchers linked fatty and sugary foods to an increased risk of heart disease and death, and according to the study, people whose diets were more closely related to one of these foods were more likely to be at risk by up to 40%.

Research indicates that eating less chocolate, sweets, butter, sugar-sweetened beverages and canned foods is associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease or death during middle age.

“Our research indicates that eating less chocolate, sweets, butter, low-fiber bread, sugar-sweetened drinks, fruit juice, table sugar and canned foods may be associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease or death during middle age,” says the nutritionist.
