The Swedish striker, AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has faced severe criticism against the backdrop of an old fishing he had done in South Africa.

The newspaper “Daily Mail” said that “Ibra” is accused of shooting a lion in South Africa in 2011, then bringing his skin, skull and jaw to Sweden, which sparked a wave of anger against the player in his country.

She added that Ibrahimovic often spoke about his passion for wildlife and animals, yet environmental associations accuse him of killing a lion listed among the endangered species.
These associations say that what is required of the player and his ilk is to raise awareness of the environment and not contribute to “sabotaging it”.

Hunting lions is legal in South Africa, as long as the person doing so is licensed.

The Swedish newspaper “Expressen” said that Ibrahimovic obtained a hunting license and after less than a year he shot and killed the male lion in the wild.

According to the report, the lion killed by Ibrahimovic spent more than a year in a container before being released.

The newspaper tried to contact the player to obtain his comment, but was unable to do so.

“Sky News Arabia” says that Ibrahimovic’s passion for wild animals is that he drew a large “tattoo” of a lion on his back, which appears clearly when he takes off his shirt.
