Arthritis is a common condition that can affect people of all ages. It is a condition that causes muscles to feel tight and painful and can negatively affect one’s life.

To help alleviate the painful symptoms the condition causes, experts praise one supplement in particular that is said to help reduce the amount of inflammation in the body.
Curcumin is known as the main biochemical in turmeric. Turmeric has many scientifically proven health benefits, including the ability to prevent some diseases, is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, and helps improve symptoms of arthritis.

Experts claim that curcumin reduces the pain, inflammation and stiffness associated with rheumatoid arthritis.

It is recommended to take 500 mg twice daily or it can be taken as a tea by boiling two cups of water with one teaspoon of curcumin powder and half a teaspoon of black pepper. Let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, and you can add lemon, honey or milk.

It has been called one of the best supplements for treating arthritis pain. Turmeric itself suppresses inflammation, in addition to its compounds of curcumin, the active chemical in turmeric.

Research indicates curcumin’s ability to block certain enzymes and cytokines that lead to inflammation.

This highlights the potential for curcumin to be used as a complementary treatment for arthritis.
In one study, curcumin supplements were prescribed to 45 people with arthritis, with the other two groups receiving a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) called diclofenac, or a combination of both.

The group taking only 500 mg of curcumin showed the greatest improvement. The researchers note that turmeric in its natural form is considered safe, and this supplement could be a good addition to the diet.

Curcumin has benefits for inflammatory diseases, depression, and cancer. These conditions are common for people with rheumatoid arthritis.
