The Department of Pediatric Surgery at the Royal Hospital in the Omani capital, Muscat, performed a rare surgery, which was the removal of a fetus from inside the fetus of an eight-month-old child.

And the Omani News Agency reported, “Oman”, this morning, Sunday, that “this case is rare in the world, because it takes place in exceptional circumstances.”

It is reported that the Omani medical staff is headed by Dr. Muhammad bin Jaafar Al Sajwani, Senior Consultant, Head of the Pediatric Surgery Department at the Royal Hospital in Muscat.

The agency indicated that, three days after the operation, tests and indicators were verified, which proved the success of this qualitative operation.

This rare medical phenomenon is known as Fetus in Feto, and it occurs in 1 in 500,000 live births globally.
