Bangladesh …4 people were killed in a clash with police to protest Modi’s visit

At least four people were killed in a clash with the Bangladeshi police Friday afternoon in Chatgram, in protest against the visit by Indian Minister Narendra Modi.
In recent weeks, citizens and student activists have demonstrated in the capital, Dhaka, to condemn Modi’s visit. Critics of the visit accuse his Hindu nationalist party of fueling religious polarization in India and discrimination against minorities, especially Muslims.

Modi’s two-day visit is his first foreign trip since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic last year, during which he will participate in the 100th anniversary of the birth of independence leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, father of the current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
