Filming of the animated film about the Russian Orthodox Christian prince and saint, Alexander Nevsky, will end by 2024.
This was stated by the director of the Oscar-winning film, Alexander Petrov, on the sidelines of the Animation Film Festival, which ended yesterday in the Russian tourist city of Suzdal.

He explained, “The work on filming the film started one year ago. Its preparatory phase has ended and now its production phase has begun.”

The director refused to reveal the details of the film’s script, only saying that the cartoon takes one hour and the screenwriter is the well-known Russian poet, Yuri Arapov.

It is noteworthy that the film is portrayed on the basis of the technology of live plastic art that Petrov adopted when shooting the cartoon “The Sheikh and the Sea”, which won the Oscar in 2000.

It is worth noting that Alexander Petrov is a well-known Russian cartoon filmmaker and artist and is the only artist to represent the art of animation at the Russian Academy of Fine Arts.
