The Russian Investigation Commission has received a letter from the editorial board of “Vetiransky Novosti” (Veterans News) requesting to investigate a song presented by singer, Maneja Sangin.

The Russian “Novosti” agency reported that the head of the investigation committee, Alexander Bastrykin, received a letter from the newspaper’s editorial board, which considered that the performance of the singer, Manega and her song “Russian Women” offends the dignity of Russian women and undermines national harmony in Russia.

The agency said that the Russian investigation committee will look into the letter according to the rules of procedure in effect.

On March 17, the newspaper “Vetyansky Vesti” published a report on its website by experts on the performance of the singer. The report indicated that its performance aims to incite hostility and hatred between the Russians on the one hand, and the representatives of the peoples of the Central Asian region on the other hand.

Nevertheless, the Manega singer complained of a stalking campaign that she was subjected to after winning the TV nomination program to participate in the “Eurovision 2021” European music competition, noting that negative echoes are an integral part of any artist’s life. But some of the comments against her creativity were very harsh.
