Members of the Russian peacekeepers in the Karabakh region accompanied a crowd of Armenian pilgrims, who visited two Christian monasteries on the lands that were handed over to Azerbaijan under the agreement to end the war between Yerevan and Baku.

The Russian Ministry of Defense indicated in a statement today, Tuesday, that a group of Armenian visitors visited the Dadivank Monastery, and that the Azerbaijani forces allowed the entry of visitors accompanied by Russian soldiers without any hindrance.

The Dadevanek Monastery is located in Kilbajar region, which was handed over to Azerbaijan under the Tripartite Declaration on Ending the Fighting in Karabakh, issued by Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan last November.

Near the monastery is an observation point for the Russian peacekeepers, where the Russian military has also secured the visit of Armenian visitors to the Amaras Monastery near the contact line in Karabakh.
