The United States condemns China for having committed violations against the Uighurs and Tibet

Washington has condemned China’s violations of ethnic and religious minorities, including what it described as “crimes against humanity and genocide” in the Xinjiang region against the Uighurs and the severe restrictions in Tibet.
“We condemn the detention by the Hong Kong authorities of democratic activists for exercising their rights and freedoms, and we call for their immediate release,” said US Chargé d’Affairs to the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The White House announced Thursday that US officials would raise the issue of “genocide” of the Muslim minority from the Uighur ethnicity in China, in talks with Chinese officials in Alaska next week.
