Erdogan: We are continuing negotiations with Russia on “Sputnik V”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today, Friday, that the Ministry of Health in his country is continuing negotiations with the Russian side regarding obtaining the “Sputnik V” vaccine against the Corona virus.

Speaking to reporters, Erdogan added, “There is an agreement on a vaccine with Russia, and the Turkish Ministry of Health is currently negotiating about the issue. We are negotiating with China on supplying another 50 million doses. We are also continuing negotiations with Germany.”

Earlier, Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said that his country is studying the possibility of purchasing the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine, and organizing its production.

It is worth noting, that the vaccination process against the Corona virus, began in Turkey in January with the Chinese CoronaVac vaccine.
