Russian fictional movie that reaps one billion rubles in 18 days

The Russian fictional “Humpback Horse” has garnered more than 1 billion rubles (about 13 million dollars) in 18 days for screening in Russian cinemas.

This was announced Tuesday, March 9th, by a spokesperson for Sony Pictures, which has released the movie in Russia. The spokesman said that the box office revenue of the film produced by CTB, the CGF Film Workshop and the First Russian TV Channel exceeded one billion rubles, and was watched within 3 weeks by more than 4 million viewers.

He explained that the film is directed by the Russian, Oleg Bogodin, and is inspired by the tales of the Russian writer of the 19th century, Pyotr Yershov, as it tells the story of the adventures of the peasant’s son Ivan and his smart friend, the humpback horse, whom the tsar assigned to the task of liberating the whale from the captivity of the sea king and the delivery of the princess to the retinue and catch the firebird.

The star of Russian cinema, Mikhail Yefremov, plays the tsar. The role of the princess was played by the well-known actress, Paulina Andreeva.
