Head of the Culture Committee of the Russian Parliament, Yelena Yambolskaya, announced that the song “Russian Woman” to be sung by Manega, in “Eurovision – 2021”, reflects a world-wide trend and musical contest.

The head of the State Duma Culture Committee explained that the phrase “everyone wrestles and does not pray” contained in the song reflects global conditions, despite its conservative spirit.

It is noteworthy that the first Russian TV channel last week nominated the Tajik-born Russian singer, Manega, to participate in the 65th “Eurovision” European music competition, which will be held on May 18-25 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where it will present the song “Russian Women”. And this is after the Russian music group “Little Big” abandoned its candidacy to participate in “Eurovision – 2021”, knowing that its song UNO has garnered about 180 million views on the sidelines of “Eurovision – 2020” that was canceled for the spread of the Corona virus epidemic in the world.

The nomination, “Manega” and her song “Russian Woman”, generated mixed echoes among artists and in Russian society as a whole.
