Golf legend revealed after serious traffic accident

American golf legend Tiger Woods has entered the “recovery” stage after undergoing surgery on his right leg Tuesday, following a serious traffic accident in Los Angeles, according to his doctor.

Police considered that Woods was “very lucky” to survive the accident, especially since his car overturned several times in a hot traffic area near Los Angeles.

But he is “currently awake, responding, and recovering in his hospital room,” according to what his representatives revealed on his personal Twitter account late Tuesday.

In the same statement, Anish Mahajan, chief medical officer at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, said Woods underwent surgery to repair “severe bone injuries” to his right lower leg and ankle, including inserting a rod into the shin bone and using a “set Of nails and staples “to fix his foot and ankle.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said there were no indications that Woods was under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the early morning accident.

Immediately after the accident, Woods’ agent said in a statement to the US media that the legend, who was alone in the car, was pulled out of the wreckage by firefighters and paramedics, and had “multiple leg wounds.”

Woods is considered one of the most successful golfers of all time, winning 15 major tournaments.

Woods recently had a fifth back surgery and said he was not sure if he would be able to play in the next Masters tournament, which he last won in 2019.

Woods made a stunning comeback from a series of injuries that threatened his career, overcoming personal problems to win the Masters in 2019, winning his first major titles since the 2008 US Open.
