The Saudi Ministry of Health held a ceremony on Wednesday to honor the 700,000 donors who gave blood last year and to motivate the community to participate in similar initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by Assistant Minister of Health Mohammed Al-Abdulali, and featured the launch of a unified blood bank system that aims to improve the efficiency of blood transfusion services across the Kingdom based on the Health Sector Transformation Program.
The program is designed to focus on preventive health care and ensure a vital society and a comprehensive, effective and integrated health system in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Six partnerships and agreements were concluded between the ministry and several companies and institutions to support the development of blood bank services and raise awareness about blood donation.
