Kuwait’s Information Minister Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi met other officials on Sunday to discuss the media coverage for the country’s upcoming National Assembly elections.
Kuwait, the only Gulf state with a fully elected parliament, will go to the polls for the eighth time in a decade on April 4.
A report by the Kuwait News Agency quoted Nasser Muhaisen, undersecretary of the ministry, as saying the meeting focused on the launch of “a renewed era” — the slogan for the ministry’s media campaign for the elections.
That included the launch of a daily, election news TV program, featuring interviews and discussions with relevant experts, which would run until election day, he said.
The ministry was dedicated to providing comprehensive and transparent coverage of the electoral process, from the initial stages through to the declaration of the results, he said.
