Riyadh exhibition celebrates life of Princess Hessa

Prince Sultan bin Salman, chairman of the executive committee and member of the board of trustees of the Princess Hessa bint Ahmed Al-Sudairi Charitable Foundation, opened the “Beit Al-Masaneh” exhibition on Saturday.

The exhibition commemorates the life of the late Princess Hessa, wife of the late King Abdulaziz, and “documents her personal belongings inside her house,” the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The exhibition narrates the story behind each item. Visitors are provided with the opportunity to view the preserved belongings of the princess, including palace furniture, historical documents, and old photographs.

The exhibition also includes a biography of Princess Hessa, who was born to Prince Ahmed Al-Sudairi and Princess Sharifa Al-Suwaidi and relocated from Al-Ghat to Riyadh following her marriage to King Abdulaziz, where she resided with his wives in Al-Murabba Palace.

Princess Hessa eventually settled in Nasiriyah Palace, a place she reportedly adored. It was located on a farm belonging to King Abdulaziz, who offered it to the princess in 1960. She died nine years later.
The area surrounding the palace was called Al-Masaneh. It was located on Wadi Hanifah, south of Riyadh.
