Saudi authorities target qat smugglers in Jazan, Asir

Border guards in the Jazan and Asir regions thwarted attempts to smuggle 420kg of qat into the Kingdom, Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

Preliminary legal procedures have been completed and the seized narcotics were handed to the relevant authorities.

The Saudi government has urged anyone with information related to suspected smuggling operations or customs violations to call the confidential hotline 1910, the international number 00 966 114208417, or email 1910@zatca.gov.sa. All reports are treated confidentially.
