An 11th Saudi relief plane, operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, departed from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Friday, heading to Rzeszow Airport in Poland, close to the Ukrainian border.

On board was 80 tons of relief materials, part of Saudi Arabia’s aid to the Ukrainian people, including generators and electrical appliances.

The Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Poland Saad bin Saleh Al-Saleh, and a logistic team affiliated with KSrelief, were also on board the plane.

Saudi Arabia has previously announced the provision of a humanitarian aid package to Ukraine of $400 million, including aid worth $100 million through KSrelief and financing oil derivatives worth $300 million as a grant provided by the Saudi Fund for Development.

KSrelief also signed two equally divided cooperation agreements worth $10 million with the World Health Organization and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The total support provided to Ukraine amounted to $410 million, including medical and shelter assistance for people who took refuge in neighboring countries, especially Poland.

The support embodies the keenness of the Saudi government to support Ukraine and its people in facing the social and economic challenges that the country is going through and to help alleviate the resulting humanitarian impacts.
