Prince Faisal bin Salman inspects Hajj Encyclopedia project

Prince Faisal bin Salman, the special advisor to King Salman and chairman of the board of directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah), inspected the Hajj and Two Holy Mosques Encyclopedia project.

He was accompanied by Sheikh Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al-Manea, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and an adviser to the Royal Court.

The project, supervised by Darah, serves as an encyclopedia on Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques throughout different historical periods.

During the inspection, Prince Faisal and Al-Manea received a detailed explanation of the project’s objectives. The initiative aims to meticulously track and document the history of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques from the pre-Islamic era to the present day, creating a comprehensive and unified encyclopedic source.

Additionally, the project highlights the advancements made over the ages in providing services for Hajj and pilgrims.

They also examined the progress of the Historical Sites and Enriching Destinations project, as well as the Historical Atlas of the Prophet’s Sirah project. These initiatives are being undertaken in collaboration with the Pilgrim Experience Program, along with the efforts of the History of the Holy Qur’an project.

Prince Faisal expressed gratitude and appreciation to Al-Manea for visiting Darah, inspecting its projects and activities, and gaining insight into its areas of interest dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the Kingdom’s history, heritage and culture.

Al-Manea said that the projects would have a significant impact in serving not only the history of Saudi Arabia, but also the broader history of the Arab and Islamic worlds.
