Third Global Summit on Inherited Blood Disorders held in Riyadh

The third Global Summit on Inherited Blood Disorders was held on Sunday in Riyadh, attended by 400 Saudi and international specialists, experts, researchers, health care providers, organizations and unions, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The summit aimed to improve specialized knowledge in inherited blood disorders, discuss developments, review the most recent studies in the field, allow experts to communicate and exchange experiences, and prevent the transmission of blood diseases across generations.

The event, held under the patronage of Saudi Health Minister Fahad Al-Jalajel, included 28 workshops and 21 panel discussions.

The Saudi Health Ministry has been coordinating and unifying efforts to reduce inherited blood disorders and strengthen the Kingdom’s position in the Middle East and North Africa region in terms of combating common inherited disorders.
