Egypt has the most powerful military in the Arab world, and is ranked 15th out of 145 countries, according to Global Firepower’s 2024 Military Strength Ranking.
Saudi Arabia has the second most powerful military in the Arab world, ranked 23rd, followed by Algeria with a ranking of 26.
Somalia, the weakest Arab military force, is ranked 142nd. Three Arab League member states are not included: Comoros, Djibouti and Palestine.
The US has the world’s most powerful military, followed by Russia and then China.
According to the index, the rankings are “based on each nation’s potential war-making capability across land, sea, and air fought by conventional means.
“The results incorporate values related to manpower, equipment, natural resources, finances, and geography represented by 60+ individual factors.”
